Worth Resigns NPF Players

March 7, 2011

St. Louis, MO—Worth Sports® is proud to announce the re-signing of Tonya Callahan and Kristin Schnake, National Pro Fastpitch members, to an endorsement and promotional contract for the 2011 season.

Both members of the 2010 World Champion USSSA Pride, and South East Conference rivals, Callahan and Schnake will represent the new Worth FPX platform on and off the field to help grow the Worth brand and educate fastpitch players.

The Worth FPX (fastpitch expert) platform is taking an equipment company’s knowledge to the next level. In addition to developing and producing high-quality equipment for players at any age, Worth FPX will now increase interaction with fastpitch players to give them the knowledge of the players that use the equipment at the highest level.

Callahan and Schnake are the foundation of the distinguished Worth FPX staff who are actively making videos, appearances, hosting clinics and connecting through social media to spread the Worth FPX knowledge.

Helping the USSSA Pride, Callahan boasted a .277 batting average in the NPF last season, and played in 44 of 57 games. The Pride kept her in the lineup, though moving her on the field from first base to third base to even just in a designated hitter position.

At the University of Tennessee, and with Worth teammate Monica Abbott, Callahan was the 2008 SEC Player of the Year and a three-time first-team All-SEC selection (2006, 2007, 2008) for the Lady Vols. Callahan is still career leader in home runs, RBIs and total bases.

Schnake, one of the most colorful and thus memorable players in UGA softball history, in 2009 was named to the All-SEC Defensive Team and helped lead Georgia to its first ever Women’s College World Series where she batted .222 with two doubles, three runs scored and five RBI. That year, she was crucial in helping Georgia post the nation’s best team fielding percentage of .981 and finished 2009 with a place in the single-season record books, ranked tied fourth in sacrifice flies (4) and seventh in runs scored (52).
