TUCSON, Ariz. After a one hour and seven minute rain delay, the Texas Thunder/Arizona Heat softball game was officially postponed. Preliminary reports are that the game will be made up in a future series at Texas. An official decision will be made later in the week.
Texas Kristen Zaleski began the game with a single up the middle to centerfield. After one pitch to Lindsay Gardner, the next batter, umpires stopped play because of a wild wind storm that blocked visibility on the field.
An official cancellation was made at 8:42 p.m. PST.
Erica Beach (4-2) started the game for the Heat giving up the single to Zaleski.
Fans who attended tonights game will be allowed to redeem their ticket stubs for a future game of their choice.
The Arizona Heat is part of the six-team National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league. They play their home games at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson, Ariz.
