AKRON, OH – July 19, 2013 – The Akron Racers and the Chicago Bandits will resume their June 28 game, which had to be halted due to rain, on Thursday, August 8 at 4:35 p.m. EST at Firestone Stadium.
On June 28, the teams made it through three complete innings before a heavy rain made continuing the game impossible. Play will resume in the top of the fourth inning, with the Racers leading the Bandits 6-4. The pitchers of record are Rachele Fico for Akron, who relieved starter Erin Arevalo in the top of the third inning, and Mel Dumezich for Chicago, who relieved starter Nikki Nemitz in the bottom of the third inning.
The game will be followed by the already-scheduled contest between the two teams at 7:05 p.m. EST.
