Pride Dominate Comets in Series Finale, Win 11 - 1

Little Falls, NJ – July 21, 2013
- Game four of the NY/NJ Comets / USSSA Pride series wrapped up on Sunday afternoon with the Pride handily defeating the Comets by a score of 11-1. The game was carried live on ESPN2 and played in front of over 1100 fans at Yogi Berra Stadium. 
 
Cat Osterman returned to the mound for the second time in the series and with the victory moved her 2013 record to 11-2. Osterman went the distance for the Pride yielding 1 earned run on 4 hits, 3 walks and 4 hit batters. Angel Bunner (1-6) took the loss for the Comets in a game that required relief first from Olivia Galati, with one out in the top of the 4th, and again from Lindsey Richardson in the top of the 6th. 
 
Offensive standouts for the Pride included Ashley Charters (3 for 4, 2 RBI, 2 runs), Jenn Salling (2 for 2, 3 RBI, 1 run), Gionna DiSalvatore (2 for 4, 3 RBI), and Kristyn Sandberg (2 for 3, 2 RBI, 1 run). Salling, Sandberg, and Charters had a homerun apiece, with Charters 5th on the year placing her in a tie for the category lead.  
 
The Comets scored their lone run of the game in the 2nd inning plating Angeline Quiocho on an Osterman wild pitch. Bianca Mejia went 2 for 4 for the Comets on the day.
 
The next action for the Pride begins on Wednesday July 24 vs. The Akron Racers in Kissimmee, FL. The Comets head to Chicago for a series that also begins Wednesday July 24.
