Clark advanced to third on the throwing error and made it safely home for the second time tonight. Connecticut tried to rally back in the top of the fifth. Callie Piper took a free pass to first. Heather Wright, the pinch runner for Piper, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Kelly Kretschman. Wright was able to advance to third on a passed ball. Kellie Wilkerson knocked a single into right, scoring Wright on the play.

The Bandits continued to put runs on the board in the bottom of the sixth. Trimboli led off by cranking a single into right. Christina Enea laid down the sacrifice bunt to move Trimboli over to second. Selena Collins grounded out to short, allowing Trimboli to move to third. Krista Jessup came up with a clutch gapper between short and third, allowing Trimboli’s pinch runner, Laura Harms, to scamper safely home.
