When the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) womens professional softball league teams take the field on June 1, they will be wearing new uniforms custom designed by Majestic Athletic.
The new uniforms are part of a three-year sponsorship and licensing deal that makes Majestic Athletic the Official Supplier of team uniforms and athletic wear, including jerseys, jackets, shorts and practice apparel for the NPF. The agreement also provides value for NPF fans and amateur leagues the same uniforms developed for the NPF will be available for other womens amateur teams, schools, and fans for their league, team or personal use. Replica NPF jerseys, as well as NPF logo t-shirt and v-necks will be available for each of the six NPF teams at games and select retailers nationwide. The deal also provides exposure opportunities for Majestic Athletic at all league games for two years.
Were thrilled that Majestic Athletic has made this commitment to extend its expertise in to NPF, said Richard Levine, president and CEO of NPF. Further, the NPF players are delighted to, at last, have their own look and uniforms custom designed for women that blend both performance and style. Until now, womens uniforms were largely replicas of the mens, just in smaller sizes.
Majestic Athletic developed the uniforms from scratch, building on its years of both design and fashion experience. The uniforms combine form, function and fashion, blending the performance of traditional baseball jerseys with the look and feel of more stylish basketball jerseys and materials. Each team will have two different uniforms, the The Windup and The Cage, for home and away games.
The Windup features a side insert with a rounded V under the arms and a home plate insert in the neck area with the team logo. The shorts have the same stylish inserts, with a home plate insert in back of the wingspan. They also include a small but significant innovation for womens professional sports a hidden pocket in the seam on the right side. The Cage design features a two-color chevron for the side inserts, and again on the shorts, each pointing in different directions. Both jerseys are made from 100% polyester, using a nylon dazzle fabric for the detailing.
This is a natural extension of our commitment to bring innovation and value to all of the diamond sports, and a tremendous opportunity for Majestic Athletic, the National Pro Fastpitch League, Major League Baseball, retail partners, and fans, said Faust Capobianco IV, president, Majestic Athletic. As National Pro Fastpitch continues to gain popularity and attract fans, we look forward to the increased opportunities to connect with the sport and its teams and fans through the apparel we create.
