ROSEMONT, Ill. – June 17, 2014
- Alisa Goler’s two run RBI double in the bottom of the first proved to be the game winner as the Bandits shut out the USSSA Pride for the second time in four games, splitting the series with the Pride.

Monica Abbott started in the circle for the second time in the series while Chelsea Thomas got the call for the Pride.

A Pride throwing error allowed Kristen Butler to cross home plate in the bottom of the first extending the Bandits lead to three.

Neither team would muster any offense until the fifth inning when Jordan Taylor came on in relief of Thomas to start the bottom of the inning. In four innings for the Pride, Thomas allowed four runs on as many hits and retired one batter taking the loss.

The Bandits extended their lead in the fifth off a Brittany Cervantes RBI single that plated Danielle Zymkowitz. Cervantes continues to add to her career high in RBIs as she now has 22 on the season in just 12 games. Her previous high was 17 during the 2013 season.

Taylor finished out the game for the Pride giving up the one run on two hits while recording two strikeouts. In seven innings for the Bandits, Abbott gave up just four hits while striking out seven and keeps her perfect ERA of 0.00.

Tuesday’s nights win evened the series at two games apiece. Even though the two teams split, the Pride still holds the advantage for first place in the standings with an 8-4 record. The Bandits are now 7-5 on the season which ties them for second place in the NPF with the Akron Racers.
