AKRON, Ohio: The 2009 Battle of the Bats finalists collided at Firestone Stadium this evening during FanFest to outslug one another for a $1,000 prize and title of 2009 Battle of the Bat Champion. DeDe Justice from the Philadelphia Force entered the contest in second place with 17 home runs but when all was said and done, she posted 23 big flies on the night to capture that title and prize with a whopping tally of 40 home runs, swinging a WORTH Titan.
Other notable moments in the event included Jennie Finch from the Chicago Bandits opening the contest with an impressive first round arsenal of 12 home runs, jumping into the running with her MIZUNO FRENZY. Fellow Bandit teammate Samantha Findlay heated up late in the event, posting 11 dingers in the second round after seven home runs in the first, to claim second place overall in the event behind Justice with 32 home runs.
WORTH dominated in the manufacturers contest with an impressive 90 home run tally across the contest. DEMARINI finished in second with 67 homers while MIZUNO finished third with 53 dingers. MIKEN trailed in fifth with 47 home runs while COMBAT finished the contest with 44 homers.

NPF FanFest celebrated the opening of the 2009 NPF Championship Series and quest for the Cowles Cup.
