New General Manager Announced in Chicago

By:
Elgin, Ill. – The Chicago Bandits hired Aaron M. Moore on Wednesday to be the newest member of the Bandits front office, taking the role of General Manager..

“As an organization, the Bandits have always had the talent. I think that [Aaron Moore] is the missing link to a successful front office, and from the business side of the team,” said Chicago’s Owner and CEO Bill Sokolis. “I am looking forward to the 2010 season as well as beyond that.”

“With his experience in not only the NPF and softball, but other sports as well he has a lot of fresh ideas and ways to add more interest to the fans, to make them a bigger part of the game. I’m confident he’ll be able to lead the front office in a way that will take the Bandits to new levels of success,” added Sokolis.

Moore, who came to the Bandits by way of the 2009 NPF Champion Rockford Thunder, will be overseeing the day to day operations of the team, including areas of finances, ticket sales, sponsorship sales, game entertainment, media services, marketing and community relations.

During his four seasons with the Thunder, Moore was responsible for similar areas of team operations and oversaw the major project of managing the team’s temporary displacement when the Thunder’s stadium was flooded and heavily damaged. In his tenure, the team played in two championship games and won the NPF Cowles Cup in 2009, and saw increases in overall attendance and season tickets each year.

“I’m excited for the opportunity that Mr. Sokolis has provided me to join the Chicago Bandits,” said Moore.  “The Bandits are a first-class organization and I look forward to taking over the day-to-day operations of the team.  I feel with the staff in place, both in the office and on the field, the Bandits are in a great place moving forward for 2010 and beyond.  I’m looking forward to the opportunity and the challenges that lie ahead.”

The 28-year-old Moore, a native of Northglenn, Colo,, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications in May of 2003 from Colorado State University-Pueblo. Prior to his time at the Bandits and Thunder Moore worked as GM for the NPF’s now defunct Arizona Heat as GM and the Colorado Chill of the National Women’s Basketball League. He also served as the Sports Information Director at Colorado State University-Pueblo. With the Chill and Thunder, his teams have appeared in four championship games, winning one title each.
