GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- The Grand Prairie AirHogs, along with the USSSA Florida Pride, the city of Grand Prairie announced today a National Professional Fastpitch (NPF) series that will take place at QuikTrip Park, August 5-7.

The teams featured in this match-up will be the 2010 NPF Champion USSSA Florida Pride against the NPF Diamonds.

For the first time, the NPF and the city of Grand Prairie have combined to put on a National Professional Fastpitch Softball game.

"We are really looking forward to hosting this event at QuikTrip Park at Grand Prairie," said AirHogs president Scott Berry.  "This series will feature Olympic medalists that fans are very familiar with."

The USSSA Florida Pride is excited to make the trip to Grand Prairie, Texas for the first time to face the NPF Diamonds.

Two of their players, infielder Charlotte Morgan and outfielder Francesca Enea, were on hand at Tuesday's press conference at QuikTrip Park.

"The community of softball players in this area is huge so to be able to come out here and play in a minor league stadium and give them an opportunity to come out and watch the best athletes in their sport - I just couldn't be more thrilled to do it," Morgan said.

"I'm definitely really excited to come to QuikTrip Park," Enea added. "Texas in itself is one of the prime softball states around the country so when you get big names for softball you will get people in the seats."

"It is a goal of the NPF to broaden the reach of our teams in various venues," said Cheri Kempf, Commissioner of National Pro Fastpitch.  "To be able to come into QuikTrip Park at Grand Prairie and showcase the remarkable talent of the professional fastpitch softball players of the NPF is exciting - both from a geographical standpoint and a venue standpoint.  We are all looking forward to great crowds over the three days in August and of course great softball competition in Grand Prairie."
