“She’ll be expected to continue her solid play as we work towards the 2013 NPF Championship.”

“The roster we’ll have this season will be strong from top to bottom. It’ll be nice to be back on the field in Rosemont. We have such a loyal fan base, and it’s a great honor to be able to play in front of them.”

A 10th overall draft pick in 2009 out of Northwestern University, Williams made a name for herself earning both Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards during the 2009 season.

Former Illini Back On The Field For Bandits In 2013

Chicago Bandits GM, Aaron M. Moore, has announced the re-signing of Danielle Zymkowitz for the 2013 season.  This will be Zymkowitz’s third season in a Bandits uniform.

“We are excited to have Z back for another season in Chicago,” stated Moore.  “She’ll be the first to tell you that she was disappointed in her season in 2012, and because of that we think that she will come back hungry and driven to find success again.”

“Danielle is an extremely versatile player that can play many positions.  She also provides some speed for us and she is one of the most-liked players by our fans.”

After joining the Bandits via open tryouts in May of 2011, following her senior year at the University of Illinois, Zymkowitz had went through the “sophomore slump” in 2012.  She finished her second pro season with a .125 batting average, four RBIs and eight runs scored.

“I am so excited to be a part of the Bandits family for the 2013 season,” said Zymkowitz. “Softball has always been my passion and to be able to continue playing with the best players in the world is an honor.”

“I am eager to do my part in order to win another ring for the Bandit Nation and the city of Rosemont.”

A 2011 All-NPF Team selection, Zymkowitz made a name for herself during her rookie season with a .298 batting average and an on-base percentage of .330.  During her rookie campaign, she collected 10 RBIs and scored 16 runs.

Butler Back Behind Plate For Bandits In 2013

Chicago Bandits GM, Aaron M. Moore, announced the re-signing of catcher Kristen Butler for the 2013 season. This will be Butler’s second year in a Bandits uniform.

“We are happy to have Kristen back with us for the 2013 season,” stated Moore.  “She came in after missing a couple of seasons and was able to produce like she had before.

“Kristen provides some much-needed pop from the right side of the plate for us and she also brings a nice veteran presence.  We’re looking for her to at least duplicate what she did in 2012.  If she does that, our lineup will continue to get stronger.”

Prior to signing with the Bandits for the 2012 season, Butler spent four seasons as a member of the Akron Racers (2006-2009). She enjoyed her best professional season in 2008, hitting 10 home runs while finishing second in the league with 24 RBIs and fourth with a .317 batting average and earning a spot on the All-NPF Team.

"I am so excited to be a part of the 2013 Bandits,” said Butler. “I love this team, coaches, and administration. The Chicago Bandit fans accepted me so warmly last year and I can’t wait to reconnect with them again this summer. "

Butler led the Bandits last season in RBIs with 31 and finished second on the team in home runs with seven.

Butler is currently serving as an assistant coach Charleston Southern University softball team in North Charleston, S.C.

Nemitz And Galindo Return For 2013 Season

Chicago Bandits GM, Aaron M. Moore, announced the re-signing of veteran pitcher Nikki Nemitz and utility player Vicky Galindo for the 2013 season.

Nemitz, who was the team’s first round selection in the 2010 NPF Senior Draft out of the University of Michigan, pitched her way to the 2010 NPF Rookie Team and Rookie of the Year honors.

“We are excited that Nikki will be back for our fourth season in a Bandits uniform,” said Moore.  “She is a competitor and wants to come in and improve each and every year.

“If she can come in and be a dominate No. 2 pitcher for us in 2013 a lot of good things could happen for the Bandits.  When Nikki is on her game we have a very solid 1-2 punch in the rotation.”

She finished the 2012 season with a record of 7-7 and had a five-game winning streak from June 16 through July 21, which included a complete game 8-2 victory over the USSSA Pride.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to Chicago this summer for my fourth season,” said Nemitz. “Bandits fans are the best in the world and I can’t wait to spend another great season with them working towards another Championship.”

Coming off one of her best offensive seasons to date, the Bandits will look for Galindo to continue that heading into the 2013 season.

“Having Vicky return to the roster is something we all definitely wanted to make happen,” stated Moore.  “Vic is a veteran player that can do so many things for the club.  She has the ability to hit for average and can be provide some sneaky power for us.  One of her greatest attributes is her speed, which is something all teams could use plenty of.

“Off the field, Vicky is just as important to us.  She has been a fan-favorite since her first season in a Bandits uniform and her popularity continues to climb.  We’re looking forward to a great season from her.”

A 2005 All-NPF selection, Galindo saw limited action with the Bandits due to her commitment to the US National Team which included winning a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. Shifting her focus to the Bandits full-time, Galindo was a 2012 All-NPF Selection after finishing with a .260 batting average including 32 hits, 25 runs, seven RBIs and three triples.

“I’m so excited to continue my ninth season on the team that I started my NPF career with,” said Galindo. “The Chicago Bandits are my second family and Chicago is my home away from home. I look forward to bringing another Championship to our amazing fans and to the Village of Rosemont.”
