ROSEMONT, Ill. – January 27, 2014 - Chicago Bandits GM, Aaron M. Moore, announced today the re-signing of Amber Patton for the 2014 season. This will be her 6th season in a Bandits uniform.

“Getting Amber re-signed was very high on our offseason priority list,” said Moore.  “She is an incredible competitor, a fan-favorite and a key piece to our goals for 2014.

“We also think she’s going to come in on a mission this season.  She didn’t have a good year by her standards, so we’re expecting her to come in and show why she’s a top player in the world.”

A graduate of DePaul University, and originally drafted by the Bandits as the 20th overall selection in the 2009 NPF College Draft, Patton finished the 2013 season with 37 hits.  She finished the campaign with a .272 batting average and a .365 on-base percentage.

The 2012 Wilson Co-Defensive Player of the Year led the league in putouts for the second year in a row with 49, and she recorded 71 assists with a fielding percentage of .909. Patton, who was the recipient of the 2012 Spikes Stolen Bases Award, continued to showcase her speed successfully stealing nine bases. Her stolen base percentage of .818 was good for fifth overall in the NPF.

A veteran leader, both on and off the field, Patton is looking forward to making this season a great one for the Bandits.

“I’m beyond excited to be coming back to the Bandits for my sixth season,” said Patton. “I can’t wait to reunite with my Banditas and meet the new additions to our team. 2014 is going to be an amazing summer for the Chicago Bandits.”

During the off-season Patton is working in sales for Total Control Sports, as well as running clinics and giving lessons for youth softball players and teams throughout the Chicagoland area.
