Tucson, Ari --

Sorensen gave up two first inning runs, before shutting out the Flames over the final six frames. At the plate, the Heat bats got started in the first, and did not stop after that. They scored at least one run in every inning, including four in the fourth. Most of the damage was done on homeruns by Tairia Flowers, Lauren Bauer and Tara Knudsen. All three hit three-run homeruns.
Lead-off hitter Lauren Bauer went five for five in her National Pro Fastpitch debut, with four runs and three RBI. Erica Beach, the Heats designated player went three-for-three with two runs batted in and two walks. At the games end, eight of the nine Heat players got at least one hit, and six had multiple hit performances.

After giving up two in the top of the first, the Heat scored the final 15 runs of the game. Lauren Bauers homerun in the third made the score 8-2, and Tara Knudsen capped off four straight Heat hits with a three-run homerun of her own. The final two runs came in the bottom of the sixth on a two run single by Erica Beach.
