AKRON, Ohio – April 14, 2004 – The Akron Racers Foundation announced that its new website will go live today after 1:30 p.m. The site can be visited at www.akronracers.org.

The website will feature information on the Akron Racers, members of the National Pro Fastpitch League, as well as the amateur and youth events that take place at Firestone Stadium. Site visitors will be able to get Akron Racers ticket information, see photos of the professional players and read about the Foundation and its goals.

The Akron Racers Foundation website will be created in three phases, which will each add more information and interactivity to the site. Phase one will be completed this week with the unveiling of the website. Phase two will incorporate Akron Racers statistics and league standings into the site. Phase three will allow site visitors to order tickets and merchandise over a secure website.

The Akron Racers Foundation, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to providing numerous activities for area amateur and youth fastpitch softball teams. Its mission is to provide a comprehensive “Grassroots to the Pros” program. Not only does it host and conduct many leagues and clinics for youth and amateurs; it also owns and operates the Akron Racers, a member of the six-team National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league.
