Force Sign One From Tryout

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia Force have announced the signing of Loren Anguiano to a contract for the 2007 National Pro Fastpitch season. The utility player from St. John’s University was selected from a tryout held by the team on Monday. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Anguiano recently completed a distinguished career as a member of the Red Storm softball team. She finished 2007 with a .287 batting average, 10 homeruns, and 30 RBIs. Her home run total led the club, while her RBI total was tied for team-high honors. Anguiano also lead the team in doubles with 13 on the season. The Mesa, Arizona native appeared in all 54 games for St. John’s while starting 53 of them. During her junior year, Anguiano had a career-high six RBI game vs. Seton Hall. In her career, she has seen playing time at catcher, shortstop, and third base. She was recently named to the All-BIG EAST third team.

Before St. John’s, she was a four-year letter winner in softball at Marcos de Niza High School. Anguiano was named an All-American in her junior and senior year, and was named the 2002 Marcos de Niza Athlete of the Year. She finished her high school career with a .352 batting average and 136 hits, which is a school record.
