Bandits Take Game One from Venezuela

By:
The Comcast Chicago Bandits kicked off their home season with a 2-1 win tonight against international foe, Venezuela. The Bandits swept the Venezuelan National team during their four game home series last year.

Superstar Jennie Finch took the mound for the orange and black and dominated striking out 13 Venezuelan hitters and walking only one.

The Bandits heated things up in the bottom of the second off of a Nicole Trimboli double. Trimboli eventually scored on an error by the Venezuelan catcher giving the Bandits their first run of the night. Jaime Clark was intentionally walked by right handed hurler, Mariela Espinoza. The Bandits capitalized on the opportunity in the form of a Laura Harms sacrifice fly to right bringing Clark in to score.

Venezuela lit up the board with their first and only run in the fourth inning off a Rubileno Rojos single to left that drove in Jineth Pimental.

Solid pitching and defense silenced both the Bandits and Venezuelan bats for the remainder of the game, making the final score of the night 2-1.

The Comcast Chicago Bandits will be taking on Venezuela for the final game of the two game series tomorrow afternoon at 3:05 p.m. Don’t forget it’s Kids Day at the park, so all kids will receive half off admission.
