The Rockford Thunder came out flat on Friday night, as they dropped game two of the series with Washington 7-0 at Sportscore One.
The Glory (20-7) got things started in the top of the first out with two outs when Amber Jackson connected for a long home run off starter Abbie Sims. The one run was all Desiree Serrano would need in the win as she improved to a league-best 11-3.
Washington's powerful display continued in the top of the second inning. Sara Larquier drilled a pitch to deep left field for a no doubt homerun to increase the Glory lead to 2-0. The Glory would score two more runs in the top of the fifth and the final three in top of the seventh on a line drive blast by Oli Keohohou. Keohohou's home run was a line drive that was never more than seven feet off the ground.
The Thunder (20-10) couldn't get anything going offensively in the ball game. They managed just three singles in the game off of Serrano.
Jamie Davison, who was making her fourth consecutive start at shortstop, recorded a hit for the third straight game.
Rockford and Washington will match-up tomorrow night beginning at 5:35 p.m. CDT at Sportscore One for game three of the series. Amanda Freed is expected to start for the Thunder, while game one loser Sarah Pauly will thrown for the Glory.
